2009 Downhill Race Series Expands!

We’re pleased to announce that the 2009 Snowshoe Downhill Race Series will be expanding this season to include a 4th event in early October! This means more prizes, more giveaways, and more opportunities to win! Mark your calendars and make your plans early.
2009 Downhill Race Weekends:

Race 1: June 19 - 21
Race 2: July 24 - 26
Race 3: August 28 – 30
Race 4: October 2 - 4

Bike Park Expansion Recap
Last season the Snowshoe Mountain Bike Trail Crew produced 4 new machine built trails; 3 of them located within the 1,500+ vertical feet Western Territory and the other located adjacent to the Ballhooter High Speed Quad Lift in the Snowshoe Basin.

These 4 trails set the new standard for the East Coast Bike Park experience. Characterized by seemingly endless huge banked turns, table tops, and jumps, these new flow trails allow seasoned riders to go as big as they want, but also provide intermediate riders the terrain to confidently progress their skills. Raging Bull is an distinctive blend of machine shaped banked turns and a ½ dozen wooden features including a monster 40’ L x 16’ H banked wall ride that allows riders to go as small or as big as they want

Lift Operation News:
2009 will see an expanded calendar of the operation of the Western Territory’s High Speed Detachable Quad lift. This will include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday operations of the WT lift during each and every Race Weekend. The lift operation calendar will posted as soon as all lift maintenance has been scheduled.

Spring Season: May 22 – June 21
Basin Bike Park: 10:00am – 4:30pm Friday – Sunday
Western Territory: 10:00am – 4:30pm Friday – Sunday:

Summer Season: June 30 – September 7
Basin Bike Park: 10:00am – 4:30pm 7 days a week
Western Territory: 10:00am – 4:30pm Thursday – Sunday

Fall Season: September 8 – October 11
Basin Bike Park: 10:00am – 4:30pm Friday – Sunday
Western Territory: 10:00am – 4:30pm Friday – Sunday

GNCC Dates Announced
All Bike Park Trails will be closed from June 24th thru June 29th for the 3rd Annual GNCC Race.
